The 'lost' Blogs: Day 133: Remember Me?

Friday, January 15

The most recent books in my Indian reading spree was Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella. If you have never heard of Kinsella, she is the author of the books that inspired the movie “Confessions of a Shopaholic.”

Remember Me? is the story of Lexi Smart, a young women in London, who wakes up to find out she has no memory of the last three years of her life. The last thing she remembers is a night out with her three best friends when her teeth were crooked, her hair frizzy, her clothes cheap, and her body on the soft side. She wakes up in the hospital after a car accident and has no clue how she became the complete opposite of all she remembers. Her teeth are perfect, her hair shiny and beautiful, her clothes designer and two sizes smaller, and her friends are nowhere to be found. Added to that, she’s married to a super cutie who also happens to be a millionaire and you got yourself an incredible story line.

The book is Lexi’s journey through self discovery and second chances. The mystery of how she maked a complete 180 from who she remembers being to who she is told she is today keeps you turning the pages. And the underlying story of falling in love all over again with the man you have always loved adds a little romance to make this book have a little of everything.

Kinsella did an incredible job keeping my interest and left out any uncomfortable love scenes. I will say I’m glad this was something I actually read instead of listening on tape. There were several words that I just had to skip over. But other than that, over all, a fantastic book. Go pick this one up! Good times!

With Love,

Eli
